साधनात अत्यंत सावधगिरी पाहिजे.

साधनात अत्यंत सावधगिरी पाहिजे.
Great care must be taken in spiritual practice.

शेताची मशागत झाली, बी उत्तम पेरले, पाऊस चांगला पडला, आणि रोपही जोराने वर आले, तरी काम झाले असे नाही.
Even if the field is well tilled, seeds are sown properly, rain is good, and plants sprout vigorously, the work is not yet complete.

कारण जसजशी एकेक पायरी पुढे जाईल तसतशी काळजी घेण्याची गरज असते.
Because as each stage progresses, it requires more careful attention.

शेत वाढले तरी त्याचा नाश दोन कारणांनी होऊ शकतो,
Even if the crop grows well, it can be destroyed by two causes,

एक म्हणजे गुरेढोरे शेतात घुसून नाश करतील,
One, cattle may enter the field and destroy it,

किंवा दुसरे म्हणजे कीड पडून किंवा टोळधाडीसारखा उपद्रव होऊन शेत साफ नाहीसे होईल.
Or pests or locusts may invade and ruin the crop completely.

यांपैकी पहिले कारण थोडे स्थूल आहे, तर दुसरे थोडे सूक्ष्म अहे.
Of these, the first reason is gross, while the second is more subtle.

शेतात गुरेढोरे शिरली तर वरवर दृष्टी टाकूनही सहज समजते, किंवा त्यांना हाकलताही येते.
If cattle enter the field, it can be seen easily and they can be chased away.

पण कीड पडली तर जवळ जाऊन बारकाईने पाहावे लागेल.
But if pests attack, one must inspect closely to detect them.

शेताला कुंपण घालून ढोरे आत शिरणार नाहीत असा बंदोबस्त करता येतो,
Fencing can be done to prevent animals from entering the field,

आणि राख, शेण, औषधे, वगैरे टाकून, कीड न लागेल अशी तजवीज करता येते.
And ash, manure, or medicines can be used to prevent pest infestation.

हे सर्व करताना शेतकर्‍याला सतत जागृत राहावे लागते.
While doing all this, the farmer must stay constantly alert.

म्हणजेच, एकसारखे शेतावर लक्ष ठेवावे लागते.
That means one must keep continuous watch over the field.

हाच नियम परमार्थातही लागू पडतो.
The same rule applies to spiritual pursuit.

साधकाने अत्यंत काळजीने वागणे जरूर आहे.
A spiritual aspirant must act with utmost caution.

शेताचे रक्षण व्हावे म्हणून जसे कुंपण, तसा संसार हा परमार्थाला कुंपण म्हणून असावा.
Just like a fence protects a field, worldly life should serve as a fence to protect spiritual life.

कुंपणालाच जर खतपाणी मिळाले तर कुंपणच शेत खाऊन टाकते.
If the fence is overnourished, it may overgrow and consume the field itself.

तसे न होईल इतक्या बेताने संसाराला खतपाणी घालावे.
So nourish worldly life only in moderation, lest it harm spiritual growth.

शेताला कीड लागली की काय हे जसे बारकाईने पाहावे लागते,
Just as one checks carefully for pest infestation in crops,

त्याप्रमाणे आपली वृत्ती कुठे गुंतते की काय याकडे बारकाईने लक्ष असावे.
In the same way, one must observe carefully where the mind is getting entangled.

अशा सावधगिरीने वागले तर पीक येईपर्यंतचे काम झाले.
With such caution, the process until harvest is complete.

पण 'पीक हातात आले, आता काय काळजीचे कारण ?' असे म्हणून भागणार नाही.
But thinking "The crop is ready, there’s no more worry" is not enough.

पीक हातात आले तरी त्याची झोडणी झाली पाहिजे.
Even after the harvest, the crop must be threshed.

पुढे दाणा दास्तानांत जपून ठेवले पाहिजेत; नाहीतर उंदीर, घुशी धान्य फस्त करतील.
Then the grain must be stored carefully; else rats and mice will devour it.

नंतर पुढे, जरूर लागेल तेव्हा ते कांडले पाहिजे.
Later, when needed, it must be pounded properly.

कांडतांनासुद्धा, दाणा फुटणार नाही इतक्या बेताने कांडले पाहिजे.
Even while pounding, care must be taken not to break the grain.

अशा तर्‍हेने, आरंभपासून शेवटपर्यंत अगदी जागरूकतेने वागले पाहिजे,
Thus, from beginning to end, one must act with vigilance.

तरच साधकाची शेवटपर्यंत तग लागेल.
Only then can the seeker endure till the end.

नाहीतर मध्येच निष्काळजीपणामुळे, आणि सर्व काही हाती आले अशा भ्रमाने वागले, तर प्रगती थांबेल.
Otherwise, carelessness or the illusion of success may halt spiritual progress.

अशी उदाहरणे फार आढळतात.
Such examples are commonly seen.

म्हणुन अतिशय सावधगिरीने वागावे.
Hence, one must act with great caution.

जो साधक प्रपंचामध्ये असेल त्याला प्रपंची लोकांच्या संगतीत राहावे लागणार;
A seeker living in the world must remain among worldly people;

पण त्याने फार सांभाळून राहायला पाहिजे.
But he must live with great care.

आपली वृत्ती केव्हा बदलेल याचा नेम नसतो.
There’s no certainty when one’s attitude might shift.

खरोखर, परमार्थ ही कठीण शिकारच आहे.
Truly, spirituality is a difficult hunt.

शिकार अशी मारली पाहिजे, की आपल्या मीपणाला मारून आपण जिवंत राहिले पाहिजे,
This hunt must be such that the ego is killed, and the self remains alive,

आणि आपल्याला नको तेवढेच गळून पडले पाहिजे.
And only the unnecessary parts of us should fall away.

सावधानता ठेवून नाम घ्यावे.
Chant God's name with alertness.

नामाची सतत धार धरावी. म्हणजे ते वृत्तीपर्यंत पोहोचते.
Maintain a continuous flow of chanting, so that it reaches the innermost disposition.

ही शिक्षणपर संदेश शेतकऱ्याच्या उदाहरणाने परमार्थाच्या साधनेतील जागरूकतेचे महत्त्व स्पष्ट करतो. शेतात बी पेरल्यानंतर जसे त्याचे रक्षण करावे लागते, तसेच साधनेतही सावधगिरी आवश्यक आहे. गुरे किंवा कीड शेताचे नुकसान करू शकतात, त्याप्रमाणे चुकलेली संगत किंवा वृत्ती साधनेला हानी पोहोचवू शकते. संसार परमार्थासाठी कुंपणासारखा असावा, पण त्याला अति खतपाणी दिल्यास तोच मुख्य झाला तर साधना नष्ट होते. पीक जपल्यासारखी साधनाही शेवटपर्यंत काळजीपूर्वक जपावी लागते. निष्काळजीपणामुळे अयशस्वी होण्याची शक्यता असते. म्हणून साधकाने अत्यंत सावधगिरीने, सतत नामस्मरण करत राहावे.

Therefore, a seeker must stay alert and keep chanting the Lord’s name constantly.
